Dear Sirs
I refer to the jobs offering on the Homepage of. I would like to briefly
introduce myself and provide some insight into my professional career.
During my education as a machine designer, as well as my studies at the
inter-state Technical College of Buchs (NTB), the multi-faceted content of my
chosen subjects was of utmost importance. Within the interdisciplinary course
of systems engineering, I was provided with a broader, deeper training in the
area of industrial engineering, in which I learned to better understand
structures, correlations and functions. Additionally, the subjects I studied in my
third year at college, such as communication and psychology are becoming
increasingly important in today's business world.
After completion of my studies, I received a position at the abc Engineering
Office in Murg, where I gained my first professional experience. My duties
included the design and implementation of projects dealing with steel
formwork and tunnel supports. I worked primarily with the aid of the 3D -CAD
Mechanical Desktop. Furthermore, an important element of my job was the
area of customer consulting, in which we discussed future projects and/or
processes in the manufacturing which we could be optimised. This customer
contact and my proficiency in overseeing the whole project procedure was
highly satisfying.
In the summer of 2005, I began a one-year long journey with my girlfriend
through South and Central America, encompassing all latin-American
countries. After a short stay in Australia, we travelled through Asia in the
summer of 2006. In southeast Asia we explored the overland route leading
from China, crossing Tibet an Nepal and India. We returned to Switzerland by
the Trans-Siberian Railway, travelling from Peking to Moscow at the beginning
of May, 2007.
During my journey round the world, I was able to amass countless experiences
which have both strengthened my development and enriched my life.
Getting to know a myriad of foreign cultures and their customs, wonderfully
unique encounters, as well as confrontations in sometimes difficult situations
created a lasting impression on my world views. As a result, I am confident
that my widespread experience would suit perfectly in an internationallyoriented
sales team like that of Geberit Singapore.
My present position at Geberit encompasses the entire range of product
development, working closely together with other staff members of a project
team. It is because of this work that I have had the opportunity to gain a
deeper insight into the product range of sanitary systems. Together with my
team, I developed the new AP cistern, thus getting to know quiet well the
various processes as well as the different departments at Geberit's
headquarters in Jona.
As a result of my great passion for getting to know other countries, foreign
cultures and their customs, I have experienced a growing desire to be able to
work abroad for an extended period of time.
I am quite willing to take part in further education in order to make up any
gaps I may have. Interaction with people is something that gives me great
pleasure and I am able to adapt very quickly to new situations. Flexibility, as
well as fluency in foreign languages is self-evident for me in today's working
environment.
Therefore, I would be very pleased to join your team, giving my full support
with the utmost commitment.
At your convenience, I would be pleased to have the opportunity of
discussing this matter with you. Thank you for your interest and kind
consideration of my application.
Best regards
Joerg Scherrer
